ABOUT

Twenty years into his career as a litigation partner in an AmLaw 100 national firm, Chuck Ehrlich was recruited to join a team organized to resolve the most complex and challenging liabilities facing Xerox’s property and casualty insurance business.   Over his ensuing almost two decades as an insurance executive, Chuck held “C” suite positions in both claims and legal.  Chuck reported directly to the CEO for most of his career, and was on the boards of insurance companies and insurance service organizations in the US and abroad.

Chuck’s responsibilities encompassed:

•          Resolution of billions of dollars in claims and coverage disputes

•          Management of legal expenses aggregating hundreds of millions of dollars

•          Creation and management of a sophisticated 150 member  claim resolution and litigation team

•          Supervision and direction of a wide variety of corporate, litigation, and claim matters

Chuck’s claims experience encompasses a broad spectrum of claim types including asbestos, products liability, environmental pollution, construction defect, first party property loss, director and officer liability, professional liability, personal lines, public entity liability, and personal injury.

Chuck dealt with a wide variety of issues including coverage, good/bad faith, primary/excess relationships, allocation of loss, determination of number of occurrences, third party claims administration, bankruptcy, litigation management, claim department management, third party administration, and the litigation process. 

Having been an integral member of insurance company senior management, Chuck brings a broad understanding of the insurance business.  His years in private practice litigation add strong familiarity with the litigation process.  He has a deep appreciation of the need to communicate ideas clearly and directly.
